Mary Katrantzou SS12 collection

Today is the 5th day of London Fashion Week, to start off the morning Mary Katrantzou showed off her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The show swepted us up with carnations growing out of it in blocks of yellow, then fuchsia, then red, smashed cadillacs, floral cacophonies, sea bed corals and scallop shells, piled up tin cans and shoals of fish skittering through.

Throughout the collection came prints.
The prints carried onto bold weave sweatshirts and strenchy knit dress, trousers suits from pink carnations around the ankle through yellow, red, and to blue for the shoulders or blue, red, turquoise and grey. Signature cocktail dresses appeared with their stiffened, sculpted shapes - jutting out from the hips and draped over one shoulder.

It was one fashion moment when her finally dress came down the runway, a metalllic creation of tin cans and metal flowers, rivets and sequins. It was one worthly museum piece.
