Claridges Christmas Tree 2011

by - Thursday, November 17, 2011

Today it has been announced that Lavin's Alber Elbaz will design this year's Claridge's Christmas tree. Elbaz has followed the same steps as John Galliano did when he designed a Dior Christmas Tree, for the hotel hotel in 2009 and 2010.
Elbaz made a statement early on today.
"The concept of the Christmas Tree decoration is to create an installation that carries the spirit of Lanvin, an infusion of tradition and modernity at the same time," Elbaz said. "The tree is to emanate and bring heartwarming joy to all who work and stay as guests at Claridge's hotel: It's my way to wish them a very Merry Christmas."
Claridge's general manager Thomas Kochs added.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mr Elbaz this year to spread the Christmas magic in our iconic lobby, "It is simply wonderful to see this talented designer decorate the tree in his whimsical style. The House of Lanvin and Claridge's are synonymous with longstanding tradition and timeless glamour, and we are sure to bring the Christmas magic alive this festive season."
The tree is traditionally unveiled with a star-studded party, which this year will take place in December - attended by Elbaz himself -and will be on display in the hotel from November 22 until January 2.
