3rd day of #LFW: Vivienne Westwood

by - Sunday, February 19, 2012

Dame Vivienne Westwood Red label took to the runway of a British themed show.

Various incarnations of tweed and wool suiting, eccentric was the main feature of the collection, along giving out a more warmly wrapped up feel. Tailoring and stripes added a sedate palette of richness of colours pinks, purple, blues, teals, grey, and browns.

Westwood’s idea of Britishness came into the collection with ruby shirt layered tea dresses. From British inspiration the collection travelled to Africa for inspiration bringing tribal prints, knits, and jersey dress which created the perfect evening gown to the runway.

The audience was star studded with the attendance of Heston Blumenthal, Mary Charteris, Janice Dickson, Harold Tillman, Sadie Frost and her daughter Jaquetta Wheeler.
Finally the show ended with an Westwood style finale with herself coming down the runway smiling clutching a bunch of roses, to the sound of the ace of spades...
