Magnificent McQueen start .. via Instagram
A small and inmate presentation worked for Alexander McQueen’s spring and summer 2013 menswear collection. Holding it at Milan’s Sala Reale the boys took to the runway...

The first looks were all suited and booted with a collection of suits. From checked double breasted jackets to colour blocked singled jackets. Some with an under layer of a tie and shirt however, a printed shirt went under the radar. Whilst there was a long cream coat, a couple of the suites were finished off with a selection of hats. Which I thought it was perfect accessory piece to finish of the suites.

The inspiration for the spring and summer collection came through in the male vanity of the peacock male and the English gentlemen, this through printed blazers in patterns of mixed colour palette oranges, creams, spots of browns. Following a darker palette of white and navy, with the under layer of monochrome prints.

McQueen’s menswear collection also contained a classic hint of Britishness through the featuring of Savile Row tailoring tradition featuring at the heart of the house of Alexander McQueen’s collection.
Embroidery played a part of the collection giving detailing in a very natural way through golden dragonflies on the lapel’s of blazers.Overall the menswear collection for next year’s spring and summer was perfect within ticking the trends.

It was a very mixture of our classic Britishness of tailoring with a McQueen twist.
