Olympic Closing Ceremony Couture

Morning,
It’s been a very long weekend being out and about with road trips and amongst the sporting atmosphere ahead of the last night’s closing ceremony. Last night was a night to remember, within the culture of our music industry...

However there was one part of the musical notation which made me very proud to be apart of the fashion industry. It was the moment when Nick Knights photos featuring some of our biggest designers and models came out into the stadium.  Firstly Kate Moss came in with Alexander McQueen, following with Naomi Campbell in McQueen. Kate Elson was in Burberry, Stella Tennant in Christopher Kane, Lily Cole was in Erdem, Jourdan Dunn was in Johnathon Saunders and Stephen Jones, Georgia May Jagger in Victoria Beckham, Lily Donaldson was in Vivienne Westwood, and finally David Gandy was in tailored suit by Paul Smith.

Taking to the Union Jack catwalk the models did our industry proud.

"It just wouldn't have been possible without Vogue and without [fashion director] Lucinda Chambers specifically, who persuaded all the models and the designers to get involved," Daniel Marks, director of public relations powerhouse The Communications Store, told Vogue latest night  -describing in detail how the fashion element of the extravaganza came together.

This morning Christopher Kane has given an insight to what it was like designing a garment made out of gold for Stella Tennant. He told Vogue.com that:

Vogue is such an establishment for London, and there's such a great fashion scene in Britain," said Kane. "This is a great way to pay tribute to that."

"I got an email from Lucinda, which was very confidential - asking me if I wanted to take part in the Closing Ceremony," Kane told us. "She said that she wanted designers that represented the creative side of British fashion to create an outfit for an iconic model. Of course, I wasn't going to say no."

Overall I’m very proud to be British..
