4 Lazy Day Loungewear Options for an Ultra-Warm, Ultra-Cute Look

The best part about weekends is that you don't have to leave the house if you don't want to. When there's snow on the ground and the temperature drops below freezing, one of my first instincts is to crank up the heat and have a lazy day indoors where it's warm and cozy. Although I would love to keep the heater at a toasty 80 degrees, my heating bill would probably make me pay for it later on down the road. Fortunately, you can still keep the thermostat at a reasonable level and enjoy superior comfort at the same time with these cozy indoor fashion choices.

1. Cute Hats

Scientists have long debunked the myth that most of your body heat is lost through your head, but further experiments have shown that at least 10 percent of body heat can be compromised when you choose not to wear a hat. No need to spend time doing complicated hairstyles when you can just tuck your hair away under an adorable fluffy hat, complete with cute ears and other special touches. And don't forget your earmuffs for a head-to-toe toasty feeling!

2. Snuggly Sweaters

One of the easiest and comfiest ways to stay warm indoors is to throw a snuggly sweater on over any outfit for a cozy layer of warmth and cuteness. If you can find a good sale, cashmere is an especially indulgent fabric choice, but really any basic sweater will do to keep you bundled up. Hooded sweatshirts are the best for a lazy day of lounging, since this can add even more heat for your own ultra-warm cocoon.

3. Snuggies and Throws

I had a good laugh at those Snuggie infomercials myself, but once all my friends started giving and receiving them as gag gifts--and realizing they were actually pretty comfy--I was officially converted. Putting a soft Snuggie on over your favorite loungewear outfit is the ideal top layer for an unbeatably comfortable lazy day outfit. If you're not a fan of the Snuggie look, keep a super soft throw blanket with you at all times for a constant snuggle companion.

4. Fuzzy Slippers

When your feet are warm, it's easier for your whole body to retain heat, and fuzzy slippers are the ultimate lazy day footwear for that all-over cozy feeling. Fuzzy boot slippers are great for extra cold days when you need a little more warmth for your calves, while furry moccasins are always cute with your cozy indoor attire. For in-between days, have a solid collection of super soft socks to keep your toes warm without any formal footwear.

Even though you might not be leaving the house, every girl still wants to look cute even on her laziest days. To add to these ultra-cozy loungewear selections, throw on a few girly accessories to show off your feminine taste. For example, tie your lazy day ponytail with a cute ribbon or put on a pair of quirky stud earrings to add a fun little sparkle to your look. Above all, take a moment to relax on your lazy day and regroup for the more demanding fashion choices in the week to follow.
