MFW: Dolce and Gabbana Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear

by - Sunday, June 23, 2013

Well it’s back to menswear from this week ahead of the autumn/winter 2013 collection of couture ladies. Dolce and Gabbana are starting us off with a classic showcase of what summer should be all about with their own Italian twist.
The theme throughout most of the garments such as the tees and shorts was the print of classical scenes of ancient Roman ruins which brought the white background of the garments into great vision of the cultural side of the Dolce and Gabbana man of travelling around Italy and exploring the countries historical treasures.

In between the classic combination of the tees and shorts came the designer duo’s side of masterful tailoring which you can see in their new shop on ‘New Bond which, pays tribute to tailoring however with a twist of the designers Italian style. These suits were just a snapshot of this exactly. Coming down the runway were double breasted suits in white or single breasted suits of black with velvet lapels. All in the addition of silk suits perfect for the summer weather coming in the wealth of a colour palette gold, bronze however came more colour blocked approach through the light blue and red, finally ending with a three piece suit which was adored with the print of Roman ruins.
The Dolce and Gabbana boys walked the line with a featuring of pinstripes which came running down the trousers and shorts amongst, two double breasted suits which were either on a light note of traditional black lines and white or either a dark note of black lines and black under colour. Either  way it made sure that the trend of ‘stripes’ is still here to say, for next year’s spring/summer season since  it’s become a big trend for this year’s spring/summer season. On a personally note I hope it plays out through to the ready to wear collections in September.
On an accessory note the boys were finished off with belts, roman leather sandals which either accessory finished off the looks perfectly. Overall it was show which showcased a much well put together yet traditional Dolce and Gabbana summer!
