New York Fashion Week: Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

by - Monday, September 09, 2013

Travelling has been on my wavelength throughout the past couple of days whilst; during the next coming weeks actually it is no end in sight. Whilst I was London over in the fashion capital New York Victoria Beckham was showcasing her spring/summer 2014 collection.

After teasers coming in every direction from the designer through her twitter account to Instagram pictures. The Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2014 collection was Victoria’s strongest collection yet! From a front row view for Harper in a beautiful Chloe dress with, doting dad David next to Editor of Vogue Anna Wintour came a catwalk show full of interpretations of shapes and fluidity.

Spring/summer 2014 for Victoria was all about exploring new proportions and the designer just did that. Through showcasing throughout the collection loose cocoon jackets, ruffled tunics and oversized gilets. Yet with the unexpected change from the designer came her fitted dresses, however, came in a more edgy downtown feel from the pleated tennis skirts to the belted mini dresses which kept their fitted element. Whilst featuring the colour palette of pink, white, black, and a touch of graphic prints.

Boy meets girl was also a theme in the collection which came with the cropped slouchy black trousers. In which garment, Victoria wore for her finale outfit along with, the city tailored Bermuda shorts in which was a different aspect all together for her consumer this season according to store buyers. Finally, of course, the buttonless blazer and the gauzy buttoned up shirts also added to the theme. Yet all of the garments freshly contributed to the trend we’ve seen from other designers this season.

Even though it was all change from the normal theme of a collection the fashion crowd are used to seeing.  The collection just highlighted how far Victoria has come from the 10 dressers we saw back in 2008. We will have to wait and see what the Victoria, Victoria Beckham line brings first thing on Tuesday morning.
