Happy Jeans for Genes Day! Overdoing it in Denim Shoot

by - Friday, September 23, 2016

Me and my team of good friends were up early this morning pulling together, a very casual shoot at Wood Street Craft Beer House & Live Music Venue. Based around the idea of creating awareness of how simple it is just to wear a pair of jeans and the Jeans for Genes Day T-shirt to raise money for such a great cause!

“I love wearing my skinny jeans and this year my friend Hamad who is freelance photographer whilst, studying journalism at Huddersfield University will be shooting around the theme of a group of friends out on a casual Friday night wearing their favourite jeans and tees. Overall the shoot is more about making people aware of how they can simply get involved in Jeans for Genes Day by simply getting involved by, wearing their favourite jeans with the Jeans for Genes T-shirt.”

We all inherit a range of talents, skills and personality traits through our genes – they’re part of what makes us who we are. But 1 in 25 children also inherit a genetic disorder that makes their life very difficult. By pulling on a pair of jeans overdoing it in denim, we will be helping to fund the vital care and support services the transform their lives. 1 in 25 children in the UK are born with a genetic disorder – that’s more than 30,000 babies diagnosed each year. There are more than 6,000 genetic disorders.

Jeans for Genes Day invites everyone across the UK, from nurseries and schools to companies and individuals, to wear their jeans for the day in return for a small donation.
